ALBUM CHART - Week Ending 10th June

1. Gary Barlow - Sing
He's done it! He's topped both charts! Now where's his knighthood? This is it's 2nd week at number 1.

2. Ed Sheeran - +
Because naming an album using conventional letters is too mainstream. This is up 11 on it's 39th week in the charts.

3. Paloma Faith - Fall To Grace
Not gonna lie, she creeps me out a little bit. Down 1 on it's 2nd week.

4. The Bee Gees - Number Ones
Yeah! Absolutely brilliant music. Love the Bee Gees. Up 3 in it's 27th week in the charts.

5. Coldplay - Mylo Xyloto
Good shout. Out of all the Coldplay albums, this is easily their best one to date. Up 6 on it's 33rd week.

6. Emili Sande - Our Version Of Events
Meh, it's alright I guess. This non-mover is on it's 17th week.

7. Jessie J - Who You Are
Of all the mainstream musicians around at the moment, Jessie J is definitely my favourite. And one of those sales which has pushed it up 13 places this week was to me! Yeah, in your face man at HMV who looked at me wierdly for buying a Jessie J CD! Yeah! (By the way, 67th week. 67! Eat that silly HMV man!)

8. Rihanna - Talk That Talk
Yawn. Up 1, 29th week. Yawn.

9. Rumer - Boys Don't Cry
Need to buy this CD, Rumer has such a strong, soulful voice. Down 6 on it's 2nd week.

10. Paul Simon - Graceland
A nice bit of country to round off. This is a re-entry, 16th week in the charts.

SINGLES CHART - Week Ending 10th June

I'm not a big commercial fan, but I will post this and the album charts each week and let you know my thoughts.

1. Gary Barlow and the Commonwealth Band - Sing
Not a bad song to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee. Has to be said though, the artwork to me feels like a rip-off of the artwork that accompanied Muse's 2009 album "The Resistance" and it's singles. This is it's second week in the charts, and is up 10 from last week to be number 1.

2. Flo Rida - Whistle
Don't like this song. It's boring. First week in the charts.

3. fun. - We Are Young (feat. Janelle Monae)
Not too bad, quite catchy, although I'm not a fan of time changes in the middle of songs.

4. Rudimental - Feel The Love (feat. John Newham)
Meh, too much computer synths etc. Don't like it. Has been in the charts two weeks, down 3.

5. Usher - Scream
Ditto. New this week.

6. DJ Fresh - The Power (feat. Dizzy Rascal)
Ditto. New this week.

7. Carly Rae Johnson - Call Me Maybe
Avoid at all costs, although I know Kieron is a big fan. Each to their own I guess. Been in the charts 11 weeks (11?! who's buying this rubbish!), down 2.

8. Coldplay & Rihanna - Princess of China
Not bad, really cool music video though. Tenth week, up 5.

9. Rihanna - Where Have You Been?
To answer the question, anywhere that isn't within hearing distance of this song. Tenth week, down 3.

10. Alex Clare - Too Close
And we end, finally, on a good song. Clare has a great, unique voice and this song is very catchy. Love it. Ninth week, down 3.

MUSIC NEWS - Queen Extravaganza Opens, Marina and the Diamonds & Coldplay Release New Videos and Jubilee Concert Tonight

'Queen Extravaganza' Is A Kinda Magic
A new tribute concert to the classic rock band Queen started it's tour of North America on Wednesday in Canada. 'The Queen Extravaganza' (which was produced by original Queen drummer, Roger Taylor) aims to recreate the sound of the original band using new musical talent. And judging by reviews, they have certainly succeeded. The National Post said "Freddie Mercury was giving them a thumbs up from heaven" and Billboard.com summarised with "sounded magnificent".

New Videos From Marina and the Diamonds and Coldplay
On Thursday, Marina and the Diamonds released the music video for their upcoming single "Power and Control". In my opinion, neither the video nor the song are anything special, just more commercial music to fill a gap in the market.

The single, which is from the No. 1 album "Electra Heart", will be released on the 9th of July.

And yesterday Coldplay released their new single and video for "Princess of China" featuring Rihanna. It was released a day earlier than expected after a leaked version was set loose on the internet the day before. Personally, I don't think the song is particularly great, especially after the last two singles released by the band, "Charlie Brown" and "Paradise", which have been fantastic. However, I think the video is very fun and imaginative.

The single is from Coldplay's most recent album Mylo Xyloto.

Aerosmith Tease New Video
Yesterday Aerosmith posted a teaser on Youtube for the video of their new single "Legendary Child". The video is scheduled to be released next week. It will be the first Areosmith music video in eight years!

TONIGHT - The Diamond Jubilee Concert

Just in case you have been living in a hole the last few months, this bank holiday weekend marks the Diamond Jubilee. And the Queen is celebrating in style, with a massive concert being held outside Buckingham palace tonight. The concert will feature an impressive line-up, and JLS.

The Concert is on BBC1, tonight, at 7:30.
